While the return of the one-car garage or community parking, or the building of houses all the way up to property lines, may throw neighbors into more constant contact with one another, this does not appeal to much of the building population. We at ICON believe that your home should foster your desired degree of interaction within your housing community without dictating a specific lifestyle. For instance, our large, covered front porches allow families to gather in the front yard where neighbors are more likely to interact. We would like to see fewer entrances to neighborhoods and narrower streets, to discourage thoroughfare traffic and enable the children to safely play out in the front yard once more.
